Description

  • The Central Oklahoma Chapter of JDRF encompasses the larger portion of our state including all of central and western Oklahoma. We are seeking an intern to assist the Central Oklahoma Chapter of JDRF Ride Team for media coverage, fundraising assistance, and communications as the team members recruit others for the ride, fundraise, and train for the Ride to Cure Diabetes.
  • The JDRF Ride Team will be traveling to Killington, Vermont, in August 2009, to ride 100 miles (in one day!) as a demonstration of their commitment to find a cure for diabetes. Each rider is responsible to meet a specific fundraising goal.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Internship Description:
Interns for the Senate Communications Division are responsible for assisting staff with day to day responsibilities, including distribution of news clippings internally, as well as filing and faxing press releases. Interns may also be required to write "form" press releases which require specific information to be entered into a standard template. Interns may also be asked to assist the communications staff during press conferences and other media events. Work hours will be arranged to fit the student’s schedule. Morning work hours are preferred.

Criteria for intern applicants with the Senate Communications Division:

  • Applicants should be able to touch-type, with a net speed of approximately 45 wpm.
  • Applicants must have good internet skills and be adept at using the internet for research, writing, and emailing press releases.
  • Applicants will interview for the intern position.

A $100 transportation stipend is provided at the successful completion of the internship.

PR Internship
The qualified intern provides public relations, administrative support and clerical services to the Communications Director. Description:
MDA is seeking highly experienced, highly motivated Public Affairs Coordinator Intern to join our team.

The ideal candidate will:
* Have a willingness to really dig in and get involved immediately
* Assists the District Director and Program Coordinator in the organization, development, and implementation of the special events
* Be an expert developing and implementing industry-leading creative concepts
* This one is a Must: Have impeccable communications skills. The ability to nurture relationships with our clients, vendors, and our employees
* Have the ability to brainstorm, think creatively and work within a team
* Be an expert at managing and meeting aggressive deadlines
* Ability to multi-task
* Be willingly to take direction from staff members
* Positive attitude is a must!
Minimum Work Requirements:
* Must be a Junior - Graduate
* Work 16 hours or more ( will work around class schedule)
* Preferable getting degree in Marketing, PR or related field.
